Guests at Staller Estate Vineyard and Winery have the opportunity to get up close and personal with our treasured hummingbirds. While taking a tour with Wendy and I (Joe) in the vineyard or sitting and enjoying a wine flight you can see our hummingbirds feeding at our each of the feeders on our gazebo and sunroom windows, as well as, out in our vineyard. Did you know that a hummingbird must consume half of it body weight in sugar each day? That means on average our hummingbirds are licking up nectar from the feeders 5-8 times per hour. While enjoying one of our delicious picnic platters including: your choice of meat, Wisconsin cheese, fresh baked bread, dried fruits, nuts, and our signature olive blend, you are sure to see our hummingbirds in action. Often the hummingbirds are just fluttering up to the window feeders but on occasion they are defending their territory against other hummingbirds and birds as they are very territorial. Whether you are with a large group of friends or spending a romantic day with your significant other, how could your experience get any sweeter?! Just maybe with some chocolate, yes we have chocolate. While indulging here at Staller Estate Winery our hummingbirds will surely be “humming” their way into your hearts! So stop in, have a glass of wine with a friend, and visit with our hummingbirds.
