Wendy and I have recently had the prevlidge of meeting the owners of Duesterbeck Brewery, after long last.
We are very proud to Welcome Duesterbeck Brewery to the great destinations of Walworth County. Duesterbeck Brewery is a family owned craft brewery that opened to the public is 2020, but was almost 20 years in the making. Duesterbeck Brewery is owned and operated by Laura and Ben Johnson. Their journey to starting the brewery is very similar to Wendy and mine, hobbyists that unlocked a passion. Ben began home brewing beer in 2001. Being inquisitive and design-minded by nature Ben Johnson found that he enjoyed brewing, honing his craft and designing a sophisticated nano-brewery facility in his basement. Through the years of home brewing he perfected his formulas which he uses for the Duesterbeck beers. Laura is the creative mastermind of the brewery and the origination of the Duesterbeck Brewery’s name, Laura’s maiden name is Duesterbeck. Laura is an amazingly energetic woman running a full household of children (4 of them boys! which deserves a medal in itself), creating the vision of the brewery to preserve her family heritage, the master gardener of the brewery not to mention her numerous volunteering work in the community.
When you visit Duesterbeck Brewery, because I know you will, you will find a beer for every palate. Some of their most popular beers include are their Crop Duester Cream Ale and Nutty Bill’s Porter but they also have IPA’s, Oatmeal Stouts and sour beers. They even make flavored seltzers! Additionally, they have live music in the summer and even serve food. The pretzel is a must and completes the craft beer experience!
Many of you know that my roots in the fermented beverage industry started in beer brewing. I can tell you that you will be very impressed with their quality of beers.
Spending time at Duesterbeck Brewery was an amazing experience. Enjoying excellent beers at their expansive facility that provides an authentic Wisconsin Farm feel.
Prost!
